CAMC Radiation Oncology Services Hosts Open Houses

Radiation Oncology Services at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) held two open house events to commemorate the grand opening of their new space at the CAMC Cancer Center.  The events were a huge success and over 100 people were in attendance to help celebrate!

On Thursday, September 17, CAMC Radiation Oncology Services invited physicians and staff from Charleston Area Medical Center for a physician open house.  The following night, September 18, the department welcomed community members, former and current patients and their family members, to the public open house.

As guests entered the center, they were warmly greeted by members of the CAMC Radiation Oncology Services staff.  Guests were taken on tours of the newly opened center to see the state-of-the-art radiation vaults, exam rooms, consultation areas and more.  CAMC radiation oncologists Lewis Whaley, D.O., F.A.C.R.O., Prem Raja, M.D., Brian A Plants, M.D., Lloyd Farinash, M.D. and physicist Dimitris Mihailidis, PhD, were on hand to answer questions and meet with guests.

In addition to the tours, guests enjoyed an array of appetizers and beverages as they mixed and mingled with program staff and hospital administrators.

Earlier this month, CAMC Radiation Oncology Services began seeing patients in its new location on the first floor of the recently opened CAMC Cancer Center.  The move united radiation oncology with the other cancer services provided at the state-of-the-art center, bringing comprehensive outpatient cancer services under one roof.  At approximately 15,000 square feet, the new office is much larger than the previous location’s 9,000 square feet, and provides an expanded and comfortable setting for patients to continue receiving their personalized cancer treatment.

CAMC Radiation Oncology Services is located at 3415 Maccorkle Ave. SE, Charleston, WV 25304.  For more information, or to make an appointment, please click here.
